(WHEATON, IL)—June 17, 2008—Amazing Grace in the Life of William Wilberforce by John Piper and Tell Me About Heaven by Randy Alcorn and Ron DiCianni have been named as finalists in Christian Retailing’s 2008 Retailers Choice Awards. The Retailers Choice Awards are voted on exclusively by retailers, who judge the impact of the products on their staff and customers.

Nominated in the Biography category is Amazing Grace in the Life of William Wilberforce, John Piper’s pithy account of the British politician and abolitionist’s life. Amazing Grace in the Life of William Wilberforce tells the story of Wilberforce’s dramatic conversion from an unbelieving, young politician into an agent of national change. Piper’s approach to his subject is distinctive in that he focuses his attention on the spiritual impetus behind the man’s well-known political endurance.

Randy Alcorn’s Tell Me About Heaven, featuring moving artwork by Ron DiCianni, is nominated in the Children’s Fiction category. Tell Me About Heaven is the story of a ten-year-old boy named Jake who is vacationing with his grandfather shortly after the death of his grandmother. As Jake and his grandpa fish, hike, and watch the stars, they talk about heaven. The biblical truth about the reality and beauty of heaven, as shared by Grandpa, helps Jake to be brave and to look forward to the home that awaits all who trust in Christ.

The winners of the eighth annual Retailers Choice Awards will be announced at the International Christian Retail Show on July 14. For more information about the awards, visit www.retailerschoiceawards.com. For more information on Crossway, visit www.crossway.org.
